General Purpose

Be the technical resource for implementation and on-going support of multiple applications.  Provide technical support, diagnose, test, and resolve data integration and system issues. Perform analysis, develop, test, and implement applications in support of key business needs. Evaluate software packages and provides recommendations to management.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Provide technical support, diagnose, test and resolve system problems.
  • Research and analyze strategies, programs, and processes across and between all corporate functions.
  • Deploy web applications within Tomcat and IIS web server environments.
  • Support client server packages both thick and thin clients, web applications and MS Access. 
  • Make well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous IT issues.
  • Work with vendor to resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements.
  • Handle critical development issues.
  • Research and analyze data using SQL queries.
  • Gather data on systems issues, define alternative approaches, assess business impact, recommend cost effective solutions, and develop and implement those solutions.

Responsibilities for level 3 include:

  • Provide technical support, diagnose, test and resolve moderately complex system problems.
  • Conduct special quantitative studies and analyses, simulate alternatives, and present findings to management.
  • Provide factual evidence to influence management decisions.
  • Specifies technical requirements for processes within enterprise tools to ensure the right architecture/design is implemented for the business.
  • Become a product owner, including installation, integration and support, of one or more enterprise applications.

 

Responsibilities for Level 4

  • Design the hardware, operating system, and system integration for complex Enterprise applications.
  • Provide expert technical assistance and consulting support to clients.
  • Act as a technical resource to less experienced IT specialists.
  • Research and analyze data management and integration strategies, programs, and processes between all corporate functions.
  • Be a technical lead for small and large project teams.

Requirements

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in enterprise application design, development, installation, and/or modification in an online environment.
  • Experience supporting client server package and supporting web based applications including Unix and NT environments, Java, MS Access, and writing SQL.
  • Technical skills including programming, installation, configuration, and data base management.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors.

Level 3 Includes:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in enterprise application installation and/or modification in an online environment.
  • Technical skills including analysis, installation, configuration, and data management.

For Level 4:

  • A minimum of five years of enterprise applications administration.
  • Solid understanding of data security practices and procedures, including systems analysis, authentication technologies, and access controls.
  • Project Management skills, including the ability to develop project documentation, drive project timelines, and facilitate cross-functional team activities.

Preferences

  • Understanding of company’s existing IT environment and of applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience managing applications in a Windows Active Directory domain. 
  • Experience with one or more enterprise applications such as Sailpoint IIQ, BMC Remedy, Microsoft Sharepoint, IMB FileNet P8
  • Ability to write small scripts or make minor code changes within applications
