General Purpose

 Manages a geographic territory, region, location or cross-functional unit, which has a major impact on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives.  Establishes strategic business objectives, strategies, and plans in support of Company strategic goals.  Manages and allocates financial and employee resources.  Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees and management of employee salaries. Implements and supports Company programs and policies. Typically supervises Manager-level employees.


  • Responsible for all aspects of monthly accounting close necessary to prepare the income statement, balance sheet and cash flows of all legal entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, master data account maintenance, SOX controls  
  • Oversee general accounting processes – prepayments, benefits accounting, investments accounting, right-of-use assets and liabilities, long-term debt and equity accounting, fuels accounting and vendor coal payables, company-owned life insurance policies, injuries and damages accounting, AFUDC calculation and reporting,  
  • Oversees the consolidation of PacifiCorp financial information for monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts via Hyperion. 
  • Responsible for regulatory accounting including reconciliation of all regulatory assets and liabilities in the financial statements to rate case orders 
  • Support the PacifiCorp quarterly external reporting process including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, FERC Form 1, FERC 3Q and Affiliate Reports.
  • Leads the team in coordinating and completing data requests surrounding accounting data included in rate proceedings
  • Oversees billings to minority owners of PacifiCorp owned thermal plants, other accounts receivable billings and collections, customer advances in aid of construction accounting, bad debt provision analyses and reporting, Customer service system to SAP interface reconciliation process
  • Oversees the processing of customer remittances sent to the central cashiers’ office, monthly bank reconciliations and any necessary accounting resolution of unidentified cash transactions 
  • Directs preparation of financial statements for the PacifiCorp Foundation
  • Works closely with accounts payable team to resolve vendor or accounting issues associated with invoice payment
  • Key member of Chief Financial Officer’s management team advising on accounting issues and financial implications 
  • Leads corporate initiative or efficiency projects related to financial processes and accounting data
  • Manage, mentor and evaluate employees.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in finance role.
  • A minimum of five years of direct people management.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues.
  • Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, develop and execute policy, direct and monitor resources, and recommend and oversee development or implementation of systems, programs, or processes. 
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and FERC.
  • Ability to deliver high quality results at pace, manage parallel processes, and consistently meet tight deadlines. 
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage and motivate employees.
  • Knowledge of the Company’s strategic plan, regulatory and political environment, as well as the Company’s policies, procedures and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


  • Advanced Degree.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Utility experience.
