General Purpose

Direct and work with operational units to provide support for timely capital project and program delivery. Responsible for efficient delivery and tracking of the capital business plan. Coordinate efforts with large customers seeking additions or improvements in service. As part of Delivery Assurance maintain the feasibility of the capital plan by providing resource strategies and detailed information regarding unit cost delivery.


  • Coordinate communication between company and customers in pursuing generation interconnection agreements.
  • Direct Investment Delivery department to ensure delivery of Pacific Power’s current, annual capital budget.
  • Direct engineering services and coordinate with outside vendors in provision of services to customers.
  • Direct communications and customer and community understanding of new transmission installation. Support transmission in permitting and installation needs and working with vendors.
  • Coordinate exchange of information and development of new electric industry technology utilized by customers and other utilities, power generators and research facilities.
  • Coordinate load forecasting and management services for corporate account management and community relations to improve load forecasting data utilized by both engineering and commercial and trading business units.
  • Manage information flow with economic development manager, regional community managers and state and local economic development officials for new build and customer expansion projects.
  • Coordinate unit cost delivery results with Asset Management as part of the 10 year planning process.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. '
  • Ten or more years’ utility experience in distribution or transmission engineering or operations with a high understanding of related and associated systems, practices and procedures.
  • A minimum of five years experience in people management.
  • Strong engineering and technical background in transmission and distribution equipment standards and practices,
  • Strong background in capital budgeting process to include 10-year planning, reporting, forecasting, contingency planning and project delivery,
  • Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, develop and execute policy, direct and monitor resources, and recommend and oversee development or implementation of systems, programs, or processes.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including ability to manage and motivate employees, use oral and written communication to create a vision, communicate strategy, and effectively interface and build relationships with other internal business units including customer facilities managers, and external leaders including community, civic, business and elected leaders.
  • Ability to provide solid recommendations and implement plans and approaches to support overall business strategies.


  •  Advanced degree in engineering.
  • MBA.
  • Knowledge of the company’s strategic plan, capital budgeting process, regulatory and political environment, as well as the company’s policies, procedures and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
