General Purpose

Conducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, development of alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, financial analysis, budget analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Oversee requisition generation for material requirements to support project services to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Manage the overall material acquisition process for assigned projects acting as a liaison between project services, design engineering, procurement, logistics and suppliers.
  • Validate and maintain the project materials requirements information in the system to ensure that it is current and valid. 
  • Collaborate with other material analyst(s) to devise and enhance best practices for continuous improvement.    
  • Develop project materials strategy and collaborate with logistics to optimize inventory utilization to support project needs.
  • Act as focal point for material availability for the projects managed.
  • Participate in the project team meetings and major equipment non-wound meetings to collaborate with team to ensure material requirements are met.
  • Act as back-up for other material analyst(s) as so required to ensure excellent customer service across all of PacifiCorp.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • A minimum of three years work related experience.
  • Experience with consumption based planning or distribution type inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to present alternatives and recommendations

In addition to the above, the requirements of the Sr Level position include the following: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ work related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP and Project Notebooks systems.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain methodologies, models, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze inventory data and identify issues, risks, and trends.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and analytical skills to inventory materials to identify trends, history and future activities and identify potential solutions and options.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and instructions clearly and concisely including presenting data and recommendations to management.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to work closely with the logistics, procurement, operations, engineers and project management.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work independently to meet individual and group objectives.
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations on a variety of inventory related subjects.
