Job Description

 

  • Operate equipment and machinery to assist in the building, repair and maintenance of underground or overhead electric distribution and transmission line systems.
  • Operate equipment to maintain roads.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to avoid unnecessary downtime and safe working habits.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.  Collect and dispose of scrap and excess materials.
  • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation.

Requirements

 

  • Must have a high school diploma or proof of equivalent. 
  • Must obtain a Class A CDL license. CDL qualifying physical required.
  • Must pass Equipment Operator Exam within 90 days of hire; first 90 days will be spent on training and equipment familiarization in preparation for exam.
  • Experience in operating heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures
  • Experience loading and unloading equipment from vehicles and trailers.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception.
