Responsibilities

A Hydro Control Operator (HCO) is an Operator on shift at the Merwin project who: (a) is in charge of the project and dispatches duties; (b) monitors flows and adjusts generation for the Lewis River,  Wallowa Falls, Bend, Cline Falls, Prospect Projects, and others as may be assigned to Merwin Headquarters; (c) is qualified as a Hydro Operator A; (d) will provide direction in establishing and issuing tagouts on hydro facilities; and (e) will maintain project records and an accurate log of all project operations.

Progression rather than bid will normally fill position vacancies.

Shift: 8 hour rotating shift, days, swings, graves

Position awarded in accordance with collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
• Power Generation operation experience
