General Purpose

The senior IT consultant is responsible for the strategic planning and development of a Process Management Framework. This role will oversee the identification, evaluation and optimization of IT processes, including those integrated with business processes, with a goal of driving efficiencies and standardization across multiple departments and Berkshire Hathaway Energy businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop strategic plans for process development and optimization, cost reduction and improved quality of service that support business objectives and drives our customer first culture. (15-20%) 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to build effective processes and drive continuous improvement. Analyze existing It and business processes to identify existing inefficiencies or bottlenecks. Facilitate  process mapping workshops and process redesign sessions with relevant stakeholders. Maintain a customer first approach when developing or redesigning processes and ensure alignment with business goals. (15 -20%)
  • Develop and implement best practices for process standardization. Develop process documentation. Monitor and report on key performance indicators and relevant data to assess effectiveness of new processes and process changes. (15 -20%)
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships within IT and the business. Work closely with business relationship directors, IT senior leadership and business leadership to ensure understanding of business goals, objectives and requirements. (15 -20%)
  • Stay current on trends and technologies to support process management. Suggest technology to automate and streamline processes. (5 -10%)
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%) 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, project management, business administration, operations management or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four additional years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree). 
  • Ten years of related experience in information technology, project management, or operations management including five years supervisory/management responsibilities, senior management responsibilities desirable. 
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, Business Process Management; certification preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire others. Proven track record of implementing projects and initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of IT project management, procurement, application development life cycle processes and procedures. Understanding of various information technology components involved in delivering information solutions and supporting the business. 
  • Solid understanding of financial and operational metrics.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions and major vendors. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Proven interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills. Effective in managing and communicating change.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Proven project management skills; the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 20.00% of salary.
