General Purpose

This position within the Finance Planning and Analysis group will manage the conversion and implementation of accounting and finance IT systems. The position will have primary responsibility over establishing project goals, coordinating with stakeholders and team members, managing the project timeline/schedule and supporting the overall deployment effort.

Responsibilities

  • Co-manage a multi-phased accounting system conversion project, assist in reviews of project scoping documentation, and provide active reporting on initiatives.
  • Liaison with key stakeholders to understand needs/requirements, track and address concerns, and relay critical information related to the project’s strategic direction to management.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to manage significant subsets of projects.
  • Actively manage the project plan and timeline and monitor progress against overall project.
  • Develop effective communication and implementation plans to ensure that deliverables from significant programs and initiatives are sustainable within the organization.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal resources and SMEs related to project.
  • Assist in data conversion efforts to support system deployment.
  • Respond to data requests from auditors, regulation, and other ad hoc assignments from corporate finance management.
  • Develop and establish policies, procedures and business processes.
  • Recommend and implement action plans for achieving objectives.
  • Plan and manage the work of the functional group.
  • Lead projects and initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of seven years directly related experience. 
  • Previous experience leading a complex project and project team which may or may not be designated resources.
  • Analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks, establish sequence of events, identify individuals/teams, timelines and outcomes and to produce project plans.
  • A minimum of three years of managerial or functional management experience. 
  • Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program, or process
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions, and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate team members.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and an instilled commitment to accurate on-time completion of project tasks and responsibilities.
