General Purpose

Provides professional accounting services utilizing U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Activities may include interpretation of accounting and taxation rules and policies issued by governmental and regulatory bodies; preparation of regulatory statements, internal/external financial statements and/or tax returns; analysis of financial and/or economic data.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Assist with adjusting entries required under GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidating financial statements, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Maintain and monitor account activity on a transaction level. 
  • Perform activities in compliance with SOX and Company policies.
  • Analyze financial or economic data and provide recommendations based on analysis.
  • Perform moderately complex assignments requiring analysis, integration, and creativity. 
  • Consult and resolve internal/external customer issues which may be critical, moderately complex, sensitive, or urgent in nature.
  • Provide recommendations to internal and external customers. 

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience that has contributed to the development of proven accounting, regulation, interpretation and application skills, financial and economic analysis skills. 
  • General knowledge of GAAP,  accounting principles, procedures, practices, and accounting systems.
  • Analysis skills including gathering and analyzing moderately complex financial or economic data and providing recommendations upon analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal/external customer issues which may be critical, sensitive, or urgent in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet applications when conducting analysis and financial/economic modeling. 

Preferences

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Oracle and/or SAP experience.
