General Purpose

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for reviewing, auditing and approving updates to employee and other Human Resources (HR) information in multiple HR systems.  Over time, employees in this role will provide front line responses to general HR questions related to Payroll, Benefits, Disability, Employee Relations, etc..

Responsibilities

  • Audit and approve employee and contingent worker new hire and onboarding requests, record changes, pay changes and terminations submitted by managers, ensuring compliance with PacifiCorp policies
  • Process employee and contingent worker change requests
  • Ensure timely processing and notification of employee and position information in multiple systems and databases, which affect compliance, organizational structures and payroll
  • Update, verify and post union/bargaining unit  jobs in PacifiCorp’s applicant tracking system and online, in consultation with managers and in accordance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Initiate wage increases per the terms of collective bargaining agreements, including step progression and general wage increases
  • Advise and train managers in process and procedures to accurately complete and submit employee data change requests and position modifications
  • Resolve complex issues and information submitted by PacifiCorp and affiliate managers as well as external clients in multiple, integrated systems
  • Utilize software tools to develop adhoc  reports in multiple HR systems
  • Ensure appropriate employee record retention in accordance with HR policy and federal law
  • Communicate with peers and management in person, by phone and through email and Teams.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 + years of related customer service experience.
  • Ability to follow established and detailed written procedures, balanced with the ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with high workload, completing multiple tasks with inflexible and rapidly changing deadlines and requirements.
  • Ability to audit and problem solve complex issues and information
  • Ready and willing to learn new processes and systems
  • Excellent customer interface skills including effective telephone techniques and active listening skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with team members and  internal customers in a fashion that promotes positive customer relations and protects sensitive/confidential information.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing various PC-based tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams, including ability to input and extract information, as well as the ability to run various reports and import/export data correctly from one tool to the next. 

Preferences

  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, HR and Compliance policies and practices, and applicable laws.
  • Familiarity with the SuccessFactors Employee Central and Recruiting modules, as well as e-Verify.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, SAP (specifically with the HR module).
  • Experience processing employee information in a production oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of general Company Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Past experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
