General Purpose
Support development, implementation and maintenance of processes and procedures and provide necessary guidance to ensure compliance of company facilities with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection standards (CIPS).
Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day implementation, maintenance, and oversight of PacifiCorp’s comprehensive companywide Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards (CIPS) compliance program.
- Plan and manage compliance office projects
- Support CIPS standard owners in developing/providing compliance documentation.
- Evaluate policies, processes, and procedures to support company’s compliance objectives.
- Provide expert guidance to business groups.
- Collaborate with plant and field personnel and other staff to provide input and technical services in the development and execution of CIPS related projects.
- Utilize appropriate CIP tools and procedures for infrastructure analysis, assessment, remediation, indications, warnings, mitigation, response, and reconstitution activities that occur before, during and after events which may result in infrastructure compromise or disruption.
- Develop, implement, and manage necessary cybersecurity training programs.
- Support preparation and execution of cybersecurity audits.
- Perform reviews and spot checks to confirm PacifiCorp’s compliance with applicable cybersecurity requirements.
- Investigate potential instances of non-compliance, recommend, develop and implement remediation activities, and provide summaries and status updates to management.
- Maintain internal controls program to help ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Independently review and assess cybersecurity processes.
- Ensure all required documentation is organized for auditing purposes and provide subject matter expert testimony during audits and spot checks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five or more years of directly related experience in CIPS compliance.
- Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution system equipment functionality.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles of network or telecommunications or control systems.
- Solid knowledge of NERC reliability standards and demonstrated experience and application of compliance practices.
- Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team and ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers including automated tools.
- Comfortable working in a remote virtual team environment
