General Purpose

 

 

Conduct analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data from meter reading and work force management systems. Design and document Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meter reading system processes. Analyze and operate AMI meter reading system

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and design business processes for AMI meter reading system.
  • Develop training documents for AMI system users.
  • Lead and conduct AMI meter reading system testing.
  • Analyze AMI system errors and determine appropriate course of action. 
  • Utilize Single-Person Scheduling (SPS) software to analyze and schedule work orders to field technicians.
  • Utilize Field Collection System (FCS) software to analyze and schedule meter reading routes to field technicians.
  • Communicate with field technicians to resolve hardware / software issues. 
  • Resolve orders from SPS audit log.
  • Run and analyze performance reports required by operations managers.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.
  • Act as liaison between business and Information Technology to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years professional experience in metering systems or electric utility billing is required.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Must be flexible and available to work a variety of work shifts.
  • Travel may be required.

Preferences

 

 

Preference may be given to candidates who have the above requirements and have the following:

  • Knowledge and understanding of PacifiCorp Customer Service System (CSS).
  • Knowledge of AMI or Smart Meter systems.
  • Knowledge of electric meters, meter programming, meter data.
  • Knowledge and understanding meter reading and work force management systems.
