Wildfire Mitigation Program Manager- California

This role plays a critical role in ensuring PacifiCorp is responding to these requirements and expectations and delivering wildfire mitigation plans that meet the needs of customers, communities, and regulators to deliver safe and reliable power.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and formalize strategic objectives for wildfire mitigation. Create and execute detailed wildfire mitigation plan for California.
  • Ensure wildfire mitigation plans meet all regulatory requirements while clearly communicating PacifiCorp’s strategy, progress, and commitment to wildfire risk reduction.
  • Monitor evolving state and federal wildfire-related regulations and proactively adjust strategies to maintain compliance.
  • Interface with leadership on a regular basis to communicate progress, gain approval on business proposals and obtain strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure wildfire mitigation plans have accurate and complete information to support approval.
  • Ensure wildfire mitigation investments are prudent, effective, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Establish metrics and monitoring systems to evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate across program and project teams to track, record, and report on progress toward company strategic objectives.
  • Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other utilities, and providing content for regulatory presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with state commissions, regulatory staff, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent PacifiCorp in public forums, workshops, and webinars.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years of experience in regulatory, government affairs, wildfire mitigation programs, project management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership or supervisory or functional management experience.
  • Ability to analyze information, form conclusions, and provide meaningful and creative solutions to non-typical business issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Business Administration or advanced technical degree
  • Understanding of state or federal utility regulations
  • Experience in the electric utility industry. Experience with regulatory filings and stakeholder engagement in a utility or government setting.
