General Purpose

Provides reports, advice and counsel to management. Develops plans, studies and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions. Models financial information using financial tools, identifies and communicates impacts. Preparation of internal financial statements, financial metrics, financial forecasts and financial plans.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
  • Tracks and communicates financial information including gathering analyzing, and interpreting financial data for forecasts, trends, and modeling.
  • Gather and analyze critical information (demographics, condition, costs, lifecycle) from various sources for use in business planning, presentation, and other deliverables. 
  • Develop and maintain critical financial analysis models.
  • Provide modeling and other analytical advice and support to management.
  • Test, refine, and implement portions of business planning, long-term financial forecasting, revenue requirements and other financial analysis models.
  • Maintain multiple planning scenarios including management of data cases, business logic, loading, reconciling actual results.
  • Transmit financial forecasts and business plans to the parent company.
  • Evaluate the impact of company-wide depreciation studies on budgets and business plans.
  • Design and implement policies and practices for the Finance/Accounting group. Collaborate with information technology team to automate tasks.  
  • Acts as asubject matter expert for a business planning area.  
  • Develop new processes and procedures that impact the business. Report the company’s performance relative to history and budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years relevant experience.   
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the performance of advanced accounting methodologies and procedures.
  • Ability to self-review work product determine validity and develop process to ensure ongoing accuracy. 
  • Ability to develop, document, implement and enforce processes and procedures. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and give direction to internal and external customers regarding highly complex accounting matters/issues.
  • Ability to function effectively within a team environment and to interface effectively with personnel from other business units.
  • Knowledge of research, analysis, and consulting techniques, Company policies, procedures, practices, and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.

Preferences

  • MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). 
  • General understanding of FERC Code of Regulations.
