General Purpose
The Business Specialist role will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's efforts in wildfire mitigation and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for coordinating data requests, assisting in the development and filing of Wildfire Mitigation Plans, supporting regulatory processes, ensuring financial recovery of our mitigation plans, and presenting changes and recommendations to management. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and file the Company's Wildfire Mitigation Plans in accordance with state regulatory requirements, ensuring all submissions are timely and compliant.
• Maintain thorough documentation and records of all filed plans and related communications.
• Respond to data requests from Commissions and Interveners in a consistent and timely manner, ensuring clear communication of the Wildfire Mitigation Plan's goals and achievements.
• Coordinate data requests with various cross-functional groups, ensuring specific questions within each request are addressed accurately.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights for data requests and plan development.
• Facilitate communication and coordination among departments to ensure cohesive and comprehensive responses to data requests and plan development.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on the Wildfire Mitigation Plan's progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Present updates, changes, and recommendations to management, providing clear and actionable advice to support decision-making processes.
• Monitor wildfire mitigation plans from other states and recommend best practices that align with regulatory requirements for Rocky Mountain Power states.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure the Company's Wildfire Mitigation Plan remains effective and compliant.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of five years related experience.
• Research and analysis skills including the ability to obtain relevant data, evaluate complex situations, develop creative alternatives, provide recommendations, and negotiate and influence outcomes.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
• Program design skills including development of interventions, processes, or new or modified programs to meet customer needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
• Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively through oral and written means.
• Proficiency with the use of personal computers to gather, analyze, and summarize data.
• Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
• Knowledge of research, analysis and consulting techniques, Company policies, procedures, practices, and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
Preferences
• Strong knowledge of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming’s regulatory environment and the ability to ensure compliance through accurate documentation and reporting.
• Strong Technical Writing background to assist in preparing Wildfire Mitigation Plans
• Skill in coordinating and managing multiple projects, often with competing deadlines.
• Experience with Project Management methodologies and tools.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
