Responsibilities

• Orders materials, tools and supplies by preparing and processing requisitions along with obtaining bids from suppliers for local purchases and emergency situations. 
• Conducts inventories and monitors established reorder points to maintain appropriate inventory levels. 
• Maintains accounting records, catalogs, and inputs computer data per established accounting and warehouse procedures. 
• Receives and identifies materials and supplies and makes determination of and provides for disposal of non-salvageable items and scrap. 
• Stores and issues materials, tools and supplies. 
• Coordinates with buyers, shippers, contractors and users regarding problems with ordering, shipping, delivering and invoicing of tools, parts and materials. 
• May be required to deliver materials and tools to job site in emergency situations.
• Operates office and warehouse machinery and equipment such as computer terminal, calculator, fork lift, banding machine, hand trucks, pickup trucks and boom trucks in the performance of job duties. 
• Provides instruction and work direction to lower level warehouse and store classifications.
• When management determines that it is efficient to do so, employees in this classification may be assigned duties of less complexity

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have six (6) months of general knowledge and experience using a database work order system for materials management, work orders, requisitioning, and general warehouse transactions.
• Must have six (6) months of working knowledge and experience with either warehouse counter or receiving.
• Must have forklift certification or must obtain certification within 30 days of position award. Position requires regularly moving heavy loads using a forklift in tight spaces, both inside the warehouse and outdoors, including driving a forklift on icy roads, in adverse weather conditions, and reversing on a slope.
• Must be able to type 35 WPM. Must pass a company type test or provide proof of equivalent type test certification completed within 30 days of award.
• Must have basic experience with, and a working knowledge of, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
